I was reading yesterday about the 4th of July to my 6 year old. She was really interested in the battle, the King, etc. And when I got to the end, I explained, "And so we celebrate our freedom on the 4th of July." She shouted out excitedly, "So we won????" I started cracking up! I guess I never got that excited about history before! I might need to work on that! But yes, we won!!!
Later, she was helping us do fireworks and lighting them with daddy. At one point, he held it in his hand and waved it around as it was lit. She declared, "What are you trying to do? Burn yourself or something?" Ha ha!
